At the end, subtract the number of minutes back from clock time.

ATHLETES ONLY IN TRANSITION AREA. REGISTERED ATHLETES WILL BE GIVEN A JT ARMBAND, NO ONE WITHOUT BAND WILL BE ALLOWED IN TRANSITION AREA.

The long course people will go off at 7:00, We will walk 600 yards south. You will go around the buoys, keeping them on your left at all times, you will see the short course buoys lined up, go past them and turn left and straight in to the finish.

All swimmers will now be exiting the beach at the ramp to the NORTH, not Very Important! When racking your bikes, please try to use the seat to hang on the racks. This will take up less room so we can try to fit everyone in. We are probably going to have over  500 athletes. Don't take up too much real estate. Alternate both sides of the racks.

Long Course people out of the water, into the transition area from the North (this is different from prior years)   We will be exiting the transition area heading south. Please stay in the northbound lane on the left side of the cones. Head 3 blocks down to North Bath Ave, sharp right,(easy does it) then right again onto Ocean Blvd North. Stay on Ocean Blvd, make sure you turn right at Peddler Bike Shop, then quick left around Lighthouse Ice

Be cautions of people entering Seven Presidents Park.

Remember: ROADS ARE NOT CLOSED TO TRAFFIC. Be cautious at all intersections, we have eleven police officers on the course but they are to assist in safety, but you are responsible for watching out for crazy drivers (as usual) People can cross the course and cut you off, at any race, not just this one. Be Safe!!!

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE  New for 2009

LONG COURSE BIKERS:  You will ride two loops of the course.  On the first loop you will ride straight on Ocean Boulevard at the North Bath Ave ( 1st light past the Windmill) intersection to begin your second loop.  Stay to the left of the cones as you approach this intersection.  DO NOT TURN RIGHT ON YOUR FIRST LOOP for the finish line.   You will continue on to complete your second loop of the bike before following "FINISH" sign and turning right onto North Bath Ave.

SHORT COURSE BIKERS:  You will ride only one loop of the course and will stay to the right of the cones approaching North Bath Ave on Ocean Boulevard so as to make the right turn onto North Bath Ave,  following signs for "FINISH" after your first loop.

It is always the responsibility as an athlete to be familiar with the course.

All cyclists will be entering transition from the south and running out to the north.

Run:

3 mile athletes will run towards the north end of the boardwalk, there will be a sign 3 mile turn around, left to right at water table , 5 milers, continue straight, go off the end of the boardwalk basically turn left and run along the outside of the fence of 7 Presidents Park, Turn right next corner, to the white wall, then left about 200 yards to water stop, just about the end of Atlantic Ave.

South End turn-a-round point ( Water Stop) the same for both distances, one mile to go.

Always run left to right on the boardwalk, And as you come into the center, follow signs and cones delineated to channel athletes and spectators out. BE courteous to all spectator and walkers, they also belong there and are enjoying the weather and some exercise just as you are. Share the boardwalk. All water tables are markers for turn around. First one heading North is at .45, it is the run turn-a-round for short course only. Long Course proceed North around 7- Presidents park to next water stop (1.5 miles). Heading south, as you come past the finish line on your right, that is the 1 mile point for the 3 milers, 3 mile point for the 5 milers.

One mile south to water stop. ALL RUNNERS TURN-A-ROUND at south Water stop ( mile post 2 short, 4 long) One mile to go heading North for all.

Also, please do not drop gu packs or those types of items on the course. Some races disqualify people for doing that.

No Headphones on the bike, Please

Remember, Seconds don't count, Safety does.

Be safe and as always   HAVE FUN!
